Port Said
24"x24"x1.5" gallery wrapped canvas.
Port Said began with a single torn piece of collage paper placed in the upper-right portion of the composition. That small fragment became the spark for the entire painting. I built and rebuilt the surface through layers of acrylic color, oil pastel marks and collage, searching for balance and color harmony until the final composition emerged. Look closely and the paper fragments become part of the visual rhythm rather than simply sitting on top.
