Periscope
On 20”x20”x1.5” gallery canvas | Mixed Media
Periscope is a true example of the way I like to build a painting: start with an idea, add something unexpected, and keep responding to what happens on the surface. Heavy-body acrylic paint is layered with Posca marker work, polka-dotted tissue paper, graphic design paper and a copy of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony. The result is part painting, part collage and part visual scavenger hunt. A gloss varnish seals the surface and brings the layers together.
