Textured abstract painting with layered shapes, expressive marks, and subtle variations of color.

Blues Traveler II

On 24”x36”x1.5” gallery wrapped canvas.

This piece was hanging in the Atlantic Highlands Art Council Gallery during our Members Exhibition from February to March 6, 2021. Blues Traveler II is a painting built around texture and discovery. The surface pulls you in first, and then small touches of color begin to appear as your eye travels through the composition. I wanted the work to have character without giving everything away immediately — a surface that rewards the viewer for slowing down and looking again.
