Amalfi Coast in Abstraction
On 12"x36"x1.5" gallery wrapped canvas.
An original abstract interpretation inspired by the vibrant beauty of the Italian coastline.
Amalfi Coast in Abstraction captures the energy, color, and atmosphere of Italy’s iconic Amalfi Coast through an expressive, contemporary lens. Rather than depicting a literal coastal scene, the painting reduces the landscape to layers of color, texture, shape, and movement.
Vivid turquoise, coral, pink, yellow, lavender, and deep blue emerge from a soft, weathered neutral ground, suggesting the colorful architecture, sparkling Mediterranean water, sun-washed cliffs, and lively character of the Amalfi Coast.
Loose gestural marks, drips, overlapping shapes, and areas of exposed texture give the work a spontaneous, almost architectural quality.
The composition invites the viewer to imagine the coastline without defining exactly what they are seeing—a colorful village, a distant horizon, sunlight reflecting across the water, or simply the feeling of being somewhere beautiful.
